Classic Feminine
We prefer not to give perfume a gender at Revelette, but often it can be useful when describing a fragrance to reference it as a Classic Masculine, Classic Feminine or Unisex. That said, we are completely in favour of breaking the stereotypes created by gender marketing. There’s nothing better than a rugged, bearded man rocking a Big White Floral, or an elegant woman in a cocktail dress wafting notes of tobacco and wood-smoke.
Fragrances we describe as Classic Feminine can typically be those that are predominantly floral, powdery, sugary or fruity. They often lean towards the direction of mainstream perfumery, and some may appear less ‘niche’ or ‘avant-garde, however the quality of ingredients will certainly be higher than most designer releases.
As a style, Classic Feminine does not have an age or era attached. Fragrances here can range from a 1920s style Chypre to a fun, fruity floral.
