Guaiac Wood
Hailing mostly from Paraguay, Bulnesia sarmientoi is more commonly known as guaiac wood or palo santo. Confusingly, the name palo santo is also shared with a different aromatic wood which is burned as incense.
Guaiac wood is hard and dense and is used for timber. In perfumery, it gives a slightly smoky, but warm and creamy lactonic feel to a fragrance.
