Woody Chypre
The Chypre is a family of fragrances that began with Coty's Chypre in 1917. The word itself refers to the island of Cypress.
The chypre accord was originally built around bergamot, labdanum and oakmoss, and when placed in the context of a woody fragrance, the earthy aspects of the chypre are accentuated.
Woody Chypres tend to be powerful and intense fragrances, and can additionally include notes such as vetiver which can be both sharp and woody.
