Le Jardin Retrouvé
Le Jardin Retrouvé, an independent family-owned House of Fine Fragrance, carries the avant-garde heritage. Founded in 1975 by master perfumer Yuri Gutsatz, it broke away from traditional perfumery to focus on creativity over marketing. In 2016, Clara and Michel Gutsatz revitalized the brand with an eco-conscious approach while preserving Yuri's formulas and suppliers. A remarkable coincidence saw Yuri and his father, David Gutsatz, unknowingly contributing to perfumery together, one in synthetics and the other in redefining perfume art.
Yuri's legacy includes laboratory tests, formulas since 1935, involvement in the French Perfumers' Society, and contributions to the Osmothèque. His wife, Arlette, preserved his notes and poems about Russia and perfume. Perfumer Maxence Moutte joined in 2016 to recreate Yuri's formulas. Ingredients mature for three weeks, far exceeding industry standards, and maceration lasts the same duration.
In 2021, Le Jardin Retrouvé eliminated harmful ingredients, replacing traditional alcohol with organic alternatives. Maxence Moutte and Givaudan helped maintain olfactory excellence with natural ingredients now at 90-99%. They won the Clean category at les Victoires de la Beauté 2021/2022. Art is intrinsic to the brand, with Yuri, Arlette, and Clara all contributing to its creative essence. Clara, as Creative Director, continues to infuse the brand with enchantment and garden-inspired collaborations with artists.
