Dominique Ropion
Perhaps one of the most skilled perfumers alive today, Dominique Ropion was given the rare position of Master Perfumer by IFF. Dominique has created some of the most significant fragrances in the few decades, including Portrait of a Lady and Carnal Flower for Frederic Mall; Givenchy’s Ysatis and Amarige; Thierry Mugler’s Alien; and La Vie est Belle for Lancôme.
Dominique’s knowledge of raw materials is incredible and he is known for balancing large doses of powerful materials in his fragrances.
In 2018, Nez published Aphorisms of a Perfumer, Ropion’s biography written by himself and Marie-Bénédicte Gauthier.
