Jean d'Aigle
Jean d'Aigle's story is embedded in the thick layers of time since 1945.
A brand of scents with a frank character, at simple writing and powerful imagination, built on a founding desire, that of sublimating the alchemy that links man to plant. Essential, unique, ancestral link, woven from a fragile thread and source of thousand virtues.
Our Colognes have been made for over 70 years using the same process and respecting traditions. The birth of a fragrance is the result of know-how combined with the ritual gestures of those who make it. It is the result of the alchemy between the power of the materials and the passion of the women and men who assemble them. A Cologne is built and it takes time. You have to be patient and observe it, step by step, so that it reveals all its authenticity.
The selection of quality raw materials is the key to shaping a Cologne with character. Essences that are assembled to create the ideal fragrance. In our workshops, we are committed to offering strong and timeless notes.
All our compositions are then mixed with water and alcohol and stirred in the old-fashioned way, before being left to macerate for four weeks, a necessary resting period that allows the essences to fully diffuse.
Here, at the heart of Jean d'Aigle production, we filter our blends with a machine that dates back to 1945. The filtration is slow, old-fashioned and without ice, which allows the Cologne to retain all its strength and olfactory power. The small deposits that can sometimes be found at the bottom of a bottle are the reflection of a raw and genuine product.
The factory that supplies us with filters has specialised in paper production since 1309 and has done so without interruption to this day! We want to work with companies that contribute to the preservation of traditions through their know-how and quality work.
During the packaging process, we are keen to preserve the heritage of the family Colognes of yesteryear: the sound of the cap being unscrewed, the texture of the label, the shape of the bottle, that water that flows between your hands, that splashes onto the back of your neck, your wrist, your shirt collar or your pillow, and that rekindles the flame of a memory or an emotion
