Francesca Bianchi
Tyger Tyger
OUR VERDICT
Peach Jam | Honey | Seductive
“Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?”
Taking cues from the William Blake poem, The Tyger, this fragrance from Francesca Bianchi draws elements from her best works and brings them together harmoniously - rather as if she’s created a stunning mosaic in the shape of a tiger. Patchouli and oakmoss are its black stripes, honey and peach its orange fur, tuberose its piercing eyes, and heliotrope its soft belly.
Francesca’s style and accords are quite distinctive and recognisable. Most people familiar with her fragrances will have noticed a common theme of iris and leather throughout her line, as is also the case with houses such as Guerlain and Tauer.
Tyger Tyger opens with a waxy honey note, similar to that in The Lover’s Tale, which marries well with a rich peach, rather like a compôte. This is the perfect introduction for the entrance of the vampy white floral of tuberose, which here, shows its heady, fruity side.
A doughy, creamy heliotrope gives weight to the heart, without verging on powdery territory. Tyger Tyger’s base notes comprise of a warm patchouli recalling Sticky Fingers and the thick oakmoss of Etruscan Water. These notes add a solid structure and contrast to the peach and tuberose.
If you can’t decide which Francesca Bianchi fragrance is for you, perhaps take a look at Tyger Tyger - it’s an easy wear and showcases her unique style so well.
Those who have sampled Francesca’s fragrances will know that a little goes a long way. This one is a touch lighter than some of her others, thus 2-3 sprays would be our suggestion.
