Nutmeg

This popular spice is the kernel of the fruit from the Myristica fragrans tree. In perfumery, nutmeg can be extracted with either CO2 or via solvents as an essential oil or absolute.

Nutmeg's aroma is sweet, oily, spicy and woody. Commonly used in oriental, spicy and woody fragrances, it can act as a top or heart note.
