Smoke

Smoky notes can be created with birch tar, cade oil, incense, and woody notes like vetiver. Smoke can often be part of a leather accord, or combined with woody notes. A light amount of smoke can add a lot of complexity to a scent, whilst some fragrances can be incredibly smoky, giving an avant-garde or challenging feel.
