OUR VERDICT
Dreamy, floral, subtly spicy, escape in a bottle…
Lake Pichola is the central focus of the princely town of Udaipur, a landscape to take one’s breath away.
The central focus of Pichola is the heady scent of jasmine sambac, a dense bloom that is sacred in India. Sweeter and heavier than the european variety of jasmine, it lends Pichola its hefty weight, but the finesse of the perfumer lifts it with sparkling aromas of bergamot, magnolia and neroli (all citrusy-smelling notes), while he softens it with cardamom, a cool spice popular in tea and coffee in the Far and Middle East. The subtle drying impression is of cooling vetiver grass and sweetish benzoin, a hard resin with a whiff of caramel.
If you love flower notes, which project with their natural environment in the background at the time of their blossoming, look no further.
